Eton Collge is located in the town of Eton, county of Berkshire, 20 miles west of London. It is the largest and most famous of the group of English public (U.S. = private) independent secondary schools. The full name of Eton is the King's College of Our Lady of Eton Beside Windsor. Nevertheless, Eton has graduated a host of the most famous names in British history, such as the Duke of Wellington and Prime Minister Gladstone.
King Henry VI founded Eton in 1440-1441 for 70 highly qualified boys who received scholarships from a fund endowed by the king and up to 20 Oppidans, generally came from England's wealthiest and most prestigious families. Boys enters Eton at about age of 13 and continue there until they are ready to enter university.
